WHY NOT TO USE FACEBOOK : Many are wishing they had been wise enough to use some discernment based on a relationship to reality and had started their own posting format, versus depending on young prats who are making decisions behind closed doors because they think they are quite hip and smart enough to do so...
A perfect example that Facebook has not been intelligent within their actualized directives, is summarized best by their (highly-publicized) lame attempt at going PUBLIC. So why folks are surprised by this article below and that Facebook would one day slam them, is unknown to me...? j.a. knolls
Facebook Has A Festering, Global Problem With No Solution

Facebook profile pages are now formatted in "timelines" that stretch back to when a user first joined the network. These users say that their friends are able to scroll back to the early parts of these Timelines and see what were once private messages.
One friend of mine, knowing that I'm a journalist who covers Facebook, IM'd me yesterday to say: "Why is there not more uproar about the FB private message thing?"
"They have definitely put private messages on timeline. It's really f----ed. Me and my roommate both found a ton last night from a few years ago. I don't care what they say about settings. Its not cool."
The fact is, however, this glitch does not exist.
Facebook has debunked it several times to several media outlets.
We believe Facebook. Facebook is a public company now, and a catastrophic glitch like this would be a material issue if it were real, so the company would face all sorts of lawsuits if it were lying.
What seems to be going on here is that Facebook users going through their timelines cannot believe that they, in the past, said certain things in public.
They are having a digital hangover from their wanton youth. There is research out there that shows 28 percent of teens using Facebook don't bother to make anything they put on their walls private. Just like they do not understand mortality – their brains are literally chemically imbalanced in this way – young people do not understand why it's a good idea to be private. They are solipsistic.
You might think this is good news for Facebook, that this glitch does not exist.
It is not.
It's terrible news.
If the glitch did exist, Facebook could simply write some code, stop the immediate issue, and deal with the PR mess.
But you can't fix a problem that doesn't exist.
So Facebook is dealing with a PR mess without being able to stop the activity that is causing it – because the activity that is causing it is nothing that users didn't originally happily do themselves.
Meanwhile, the outrage is real, even if the problem is not.
Perception is reality, and Facebook users perceive that Facebook is screwing them over.
Facebook has a global problem on its hands. There is no solution because there is no problem. So it's going to fester on and on.

Is it possible for anyone working within the confines of a mega-sized corporate institution, which supports either democrat or republican candidates, to feel as if they are not supporting organized crime and narrow minded public relations mimickers ?
And if one were to think otherwise, it would strongly suggest that "thinking" is, in fact, the lowest form of intelligence to be found on the Planet Earth, so take action to rid politics of unlimited "what-a-waste" spending now by boycotting the premise that only a democrat or republican deserves to serve (or at least until they actually begin serving the people before coddling their corporate donor posse).

How Green Party Presidential Candidate Jill Stein Differs From the Two Major Parties
As the Presidential election looms just six weeks away, the two major party candidates continue to campaign fiercely in swing states. Republican Mitt Romney, speaking in Ohio yesterday, attempted to counter the damage to his campaign from leaked remarks that dismissed 47% of Americans as “victims,” who didn’t pay taxes and were dependent on the government. He said, “My heart aches for the people I’ve seen,” who are unemployed.
Just in the past few weeks, incumbent President Barack Obama has opened a significant lead over Romney in several swing states including Ohio, where new polls by Quinnipiac and the New York Times have given him a ten point lead over Romney. Multiple blunders by Romney on domestic and foreign policy are being attributed to Obama’s surge, implying that Obama’s popularity is less linked to his own successes, and more a result of Romney’s failures.
It’s a familiar conversation every four years: voting for President often comes down to picking the lesser of two evils. Unlike in many other countries, only two major parties dominate the American political landscape. But a growing movement behind one of the few so-called Third Parties, is the Green Party. Famous for its high-profile presidential candidate Ralph Nader in 1996 and 2000, this year the Green Party nomination was won by Dr. Jill Stein, a physician from Massachusetts who has been making waves around the country on her campaign tour.
Jill Stein is considered an environmental health pioneer, known for her widely cited reports, In Harm’s Way: Toxic Threats to Child Development, published in 2000, and Environmental Threats to Healthy Aging published in 2009. She works closely with parents, teachers, community groups and others, advising them on a variety of health and environmental issues. In Massachusetts, she was involved in a successful campaign to clean up coal plants and has been involved with the group, Physicians for Social Responsibility. She is also the co-founder of Massachusetts Coalition for Healthy Communities.
Jill Stein’s running mate is Sheri Honkala, a well known housing rights and anti-poverty activist.

Pole Creek Fire tops 24,000 acres - but 40 pct. contained
Small spot fire caught; latest cost tally at $8.6 million

The 10-day-old Pole Creek Fire southwest of Sisters has grown to over 24,000 acres, officials said Thursday morning -- but in a sign of strong progress, its containment figure doubled to 40 percent.
The fire grew not due to expansion beyond the fire's large perimeter --- at 24,392 acres, or 38.1 square miles, it's even bigger than the 32-square-mile city of Bend -- but "due to interior growth contained by natural barriers within the Three Sisters Wilderness," the fire bosses said in a Wednesday night update.
Thursday morning, firefighters said most of Wednesday's growth was in the southwest corner of the fire in the Three Sisters Wilderness. Smoke settled in again overnight, hampering visibility for fire patrols.
A one-acre spot fire was discovered outside containment lines just southwest of Trout Creek Butte. Firefighters used bulldozers to quickly line the blaze. Other crews continued patrols and mop-up along the perimeter.
Though the fire has been stopped outside of the wilderness, a huge smoke column was visible again Wednesday as the fire kept spreading inside the wilderness area, forcing a temporary flight restriction to be expanded to the south to include the heli-base at Mt. Bachelor.
Fire crews and engines on the east, northeast and north central fire perimeters concentrated on mop-up, patrols and some initial rehabilitation of no longer needed bulldozer lines.
But another good sign: Some resources are no longer needed to complete containment objectives, and they are being made available for reassignment to other fires.
Another community fire information update is planned for Thursday at 7:30 pm at the Sisters Elementary School, on 611 East Cascades Avenue. The briefing will provide an in-depth update on the Pole Creek fire.
The overnight smoke inversion again is expected to lift by late morning, improving air conditions.

Air tankers returned to the skies over the fire on Tuesday for the first time in over a week, but much of the High Desert was choked with thick smoke.
The wind shifted Wednesday, giving much of Central Oregon another look at a towering smoke plume.
There also was the first, small reduction in the firefighting force Wednesday, to 1,212, but the cost of the battle still grows, reaching $8.6 million, according to Thursday's National Interagency Fire Center report.
Firefighters used a combination of air tankers, helicopters engines and crews to keep the fire west of Road 16 (Three Creeks Road).
The large smoke columns late Tuesday developed when the main body of the fire grew together with burnouts on the southeast corner of the fire, in efforts to secure the southern perimeter.
Firefighters remain committed to keeping the fire west of Road 16, north of Tam McArthur Rim and Triangle Hill, and south of Millican Crater, they said.
Despite all that smoke, officials stressed that all highways remain open to Sisters and other Central Oregon communities.
They also said local forest officials had authorized the use of mechanized and motorized equipment such as chain saws, water pumps and air support on both the wilderness and non-wilderness lands.
Fire managers said four air tankers were ordered up and dropped retardant on the blaze Tuesday afternoon.
They had not been part of the battle since the first day of the fire, and fire officials said that was in part due to high demand for the retardant bombers on a number of major wildfires blazing across the Northwest.
The tankers made runs Tuesday afternoon on the south end of the blaze, "mainly to reinforce the containment line of the fire," said spokeswoman Mary Ellen Fitzgerald.
"We didn't request them every day," she said, adding that the availability was checked late Friday, the day the fire tripled in size amid hot, unstable conditions.
"The air tankers are a tool, just like helicopters," Fitzgerald said. "You select the tool that's best for the strategy you have that day."
"You also need certain conditions to be able to bring them in, be it visibility, availability -- are they around, are they on another fire?" Fitzgerald said. "We're not going to put a fire out by lining it with retardant, typically. It's a tool to help us -- it retards the fire -- and it can be a huge help," under the right conditions.
The DEQ's Wildfire Air Quality Index again showed Sisters air as "hazardous" - the worst air quality - early Tuesday while Bend's air was labeled "unhealthy for sensitive groups." Thursday morning again brought "hazardous" readings for Sisters but only "moderate" air quality in Bend.
